The highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn
GIRLS CHOICE BADGES
Each girl needs to pick a badge that she (and her family) will be responsible to help
the troop earn. Badges take a minimum of 2 weeks to earn. Please, please,
please read the requirements carefully and be prepared to help the girls FULLY complete the requirements. When
badges are rushed and the requirements only partially fulfilled it leaves the troop leaders in the awkward
position of having to do "clean-up" so that the girls legitimately earn the badges. 6 of the 10 listed requirments
must be completed to earn a badge. We can do substitute activities as long as they fulfill the intent of the badge.
Substitutions should be OK'd by the troop leaders. Please make sure to look at our 2009 website so you don't duplicate badges
we earned last year.
SUPPLIES:
- Junior badgebook and Junior Handbook
- Junior vest (green)
- Flag patch
- Council ID patch
- Insignia Tab
- Troop numbers (277)
- Troop dues $40 (make checks payable to "Girl Scout Troop #277". Dues can also be
paid with Cookie Credits)
- $12 registration with GSUSA (make checks payable to "Girl Scouts")
